Learning Goals

Students develop color vocabulary and analytical skills by examining color relationships in context, applying both technical knowledge and intuitive color sense while building competency with digital color tools.


Instructions

Post to the Color Exercise Figma file in a frame:
  1. Color Palette Image: Upload an image or illustration containing your favorite color palette
  2. Color Analysis: In the same frame, analyze your image's color context:
    • Technical Properties: Describe its Hue, Saturation, and Lightness/Brightness
    • Color Relationships: Identify Primary/Secondary/Tertiary colors and whether they're Complementary/Analogous/Monochromatic/Triadic/Tetradic, Contrasting/Harmonious, etc.
    • Digital Analysis: Use the Adobe Color tool (color.adobe.com) to identify 3-5 specific hues that accurately describe your image's color context

Successful Completion Rubric

  • High-quality image that clearly demonstrates color relationships
  • Accurate color relationship identification shows comprehension of color theory
  • Adobe Color tool used to identify 3-5 specific colors
  • Clear presentation in designated Figma frame with proper labeling
